Class of 2006

*Disclaimer* I do not want to go back to high school. Oh dear... whom ever would, I feel sorry for them. I just miss getting to spend time with all of my friends. And, these are some of the best memories I have of it all, and I felt like sharing them with you guys. Ok, now on to the entry.

Well, Tuesday there is an organized first meeting of the Ultimate Frisbee team at Dalton. When I first saw the announcement on my banner, I immediately thought, Oh great, well get to see the rest of the boys play again! But, I quickly remembered that we are not any where near each other anymore. Were spread out across three or four different states now. Many of us still in Georgia, but only a handful of us are less than an hour away from home. There wont be any more of those Soccer games (with Slade flying into the air, or doing that Hip jutting out pose). Hannah and I wont have another chance to randomly go to the Frisbee games and hopefully get her back to East Brainerd on time for Dance class. No more Friday night football games that we only went to because of Madison, Rob, Andrew and the band (each for very different reasons). We will never go to another prom (in so many ways, I say Thank goodness for that).

The Class of 2006 is never going to another meeting about how we have to lead the school through something, we just have to step up now on our own (as many of us did before, but now without others willingly jumping on the bandwagon just for the sake of keeping face). We got to spend time together that I dont think any of us appreciate as much as we should. I know I dont. Laughing about the boys skipping just to go to Taco Bell, or skipping AP Chemistry to work on the Turkey Baskets, is all over. For us, we are no longer the smart, good kids skipping class (what a shocker! lol)  Were just more freshmen that have to learn what were really wanting out of life.

Its hard to forget that AP Chemistry quote t-shirt that we never made, but always had good intentions of making (Kuala bears need lovin too!) Every time I wear that pink Groucho Marks t-shirt, I remember how we managed to pull together and how my personal grief was lessoned by seeing that. Some people that I thought cared only about themselves stepped up and helped out during that time I'm still in awe over that. Just think theres never going to be another Homecoming where we get to fluff. Or even, that random Ruby Falls trip where we all got along the entire night.

Now, I think the only random memory that I havent touched on is the last two months of school. Senior week was crazy  I dont think that anyone could pull of the 80s better than Hopey, while Hannah and Slade take the 70s award. I still believe that all of us bonded more in those last weeks than any other time during the year. And, graduation week I'm still trying to figure out how that flew by so quickly.

*sigh* I miss all of us.

Graduation

Well, since we’re graduating in… two days, I thought I’d tell you all a few things.

  1. I still do not know how girls can wear so much eyeliner and so little clothing. Nor do I get how the girls in our school can get a straight line of eye liner under their eyes without making them smudgy.
  2. I will miss almost every single person that I came in contact with, even Brandon D. because who else can be so idiotic and smile that much?
  3. I feel bad that the “four of us” are no longer the four… We’re more like “two plus the occasional extra person and the ever present new best friend.”
  4. I’ll cry at graduation, and if any of you make fun of me for realizing that I won’t get to see all of us together again, I’ll just tell you to go away because you evidently don’t think of me the same way I think of all of you.
  5. I'm going to miss having a routine. Getting to school around 7:35 every morning and all of us walking in together was something that I won’t forget, we were like a clique of our own… how amusing that we’d let anyone in if they wanted to be.
  6. Lunch this last semester was best one I’ve ever had. I had all of the seniors I cared about in there with me. While we were stretched out across the cafeteria, we still saw each other every day.
  7. I really don’t like our class song. Almost any other choice that we had would have been better. Though the fact that it IS our class song means that every time I hear it, I’ll think back to you guys.
  8. The football games, soccer games, pep rally’s and other random sporting events we went to were some of the best times I had in high school.
  9. I love you guys!
  10. While graduation is a commencement and a start to the next part of our lives, it’s going to be hard doing something without two hundred plus people doing it with you. Especially after you’ve been around them for the past twelve/thirteen years of your life.

Graduation is coming up in less than a week...

Hannah's party tonight! May I just say that I am rather excited about this? THANK YOU HANNAH!

Class night went rather well last night. Everyone need to congratulate Chris Blackwell and Eric Strong  next time you see them, and tell them that they are your heros.

Well... it's raining. But, it won't be this weekend!

We're all settled in the new house... yeah...

Changed up the back ground a little. I got bored with the old one. I made this in Photoshop when I had nothing better to do.

Well... we're moving tomorrow, I'll be at work Friday and Saturday, not to mention the play is both nights as well,  so I won't see our new house until ten o'clock both nights.

I need an escape... something to keep me from venting to the wrong people. It's amazing how I never thought I'd be in this position in the first place...

My grandmother is in the hospital, again. She has had a bladder infection for a week now, and she also has a UTI and dehidration. Pray for her.

Is anyone actually having a good spring break?
